Securing your account with two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring a second verification step.

Step-by-step guide to enable two-factor authentication

  1. You can install an authenticator app if you haven't set one up
    1. Google authenticator
    2. Microsoft authenticator
    3. Duo Mobile
    4. Authy (by Twillio)
  2. Enabling two-factor authentication
    1. Go to https://olympus.exatom.io/profile
    2. In the section Two-factor authentication click enable
    3. Scan the QR code with the authenticator app of your choice
      1. or enter the code that is displayed manually
    4. You will now see an Exatom UI code in your authenticator app
    5. Verify the setup by entering the 6-digit code in the Exatom UI
  3. Recovery codes
    1. The recovery codes can be used to access your account when you have lost access to your authenticator app
    2. It's best not to print those codes, but save them in a secure note (a note with a password) or within your password manager of choice
    3. Never share those codes
